About this class
Do you have a rhythm in your head? A song in your heart? Have you ever wanted to actually record the music you hear in your imagination? Music Production is a hands-on class where you learn to make your own songs, or your own versions of songs you love, using the same digital tools that professional producers use every day.
Each week, you learn a new tool or technique. The instructor shows you how it works, and then you try it out yourself on your own computer, with plenty of support and time to experiment. We work in Logic Pro, the professional version of the music-making software many people know as GarageBand. By the end of the series, you'll have real songs of your own: recorded, edited, and ready to share.
You'll learn from a working music producer who runs her own recording studio and was trained by Tony and Grammy Award–winning mentors. It's a chance to get inside the same techniques and habits that power today's professional studios, in a friendly, small-group setting where every question is welcome.
